QLD retailer feed-in rates
Each row is the retailer's best generally available flat rate in QLD: open to anyone switching, with no battery, VPP, membership or sales-channel condition. Highest first. A plan listed for less than two more weeks isn't used as a retailer's rate; it's noted as "ending soon".

Time-varying and conditional offers
These rates depend on when you export, or need something first (a battery, VPP enrolment, a membership, an approved installer or a particular sales channel), so they're kept out of the table above. Retailers marked "time-varying only" above appear here.

How QLD feed-in tariffs are regulated
South-east Queensland (Energex network) is deregulated: retailers' best generally available offers run 0-10 c/kWh, with the higher rates usually limited to the first 8-10 kWh you export each day. Regional Queensland (Ergon network) has a mandated feed-in tariff of 6.006 c/kWh for 2026-27, cut 31% from 8.66c the year before. Evening grid rates are 5-7x higher than what exports earn.
| Benchmark | Rate | Window or cap |
|---|---|---|
| Regional QLD (Ergon), mandated 2026-27 | 6.006c/kWh | - |
In the AER plan data, Ergon Energy's regulated offers pay 6.006c/kWh with no daily cap. Retailers on market offers set their own rates, listed above.

What the daily cap actually means
Of the 21 retailers with a generally available flat rate above zero in QLD, 6 pay it only up to a daily cap (8 kWh: 4 retailers, 5 kWh: 1 retailer and 10 kWh: 1 retailer); after the cap the rate drops to between 0.1c and 4c (inferred for 1 of them, marked * in the table). 15 pay one rate on every kWh.
For example, GloBird Energy's 10c/kWh on the first 8 kWh a day, then 2c pays $0.80 for the first 8 kWh each day. Exporting twice that, 16 kWh, earns $0.96, because the second 8 kWh are paid at 2c. Your daily export depends on your system size, the season and how much you use during the day.
What an exported kWh is worth
Each kWh you export earns the feed-in rate. Each kWh of solar you use yourself instead saves a kWh at your plan's usage rate, which is on the plan's fact sheet. Our savings calculator estimates both for your postcode, and a home battery stores daytime solar for the evening instead of exporting it.
Switching retailers for a better FIT

Common questions
What is the best solar feed-in tariff in Queensland?
On the published rate alone, the highest generally available flat feed-in tariff in the AER plan data as at 29 October 2026 is 10c/kWh on the first 8 kWh a day, then 2c from Alinta Energy and GloBird Energy. The after-cap rate for Alinta Energy is inferred: the plan lists it as a separate, lower feed-in with no "after the cap" wording. Offers that pay more have conditions: Origin Energy's Origin Solar Partner Plus pays 12c/kWh on the first 8 kWh a day, then 3c and needs a system bought through the retailer's installer. The highest generally available time-varying rate is Flow Power's Happy Hour: 35c/kWh 5:30pm-9:30pm daily on the first 15 kWh, then 10c. It's paid only on exports in that window, so it isn't compared with the flat rates. The rate is one part of a plan: check the daily cap, the rate after it, the daily supply charge and the usage rates on the plan's fact sheet before you switch.
Who pays the highest solar feed-in tariff in Queensland?
Ranked by the flat rate open to anyone switching, in the AER plan data as at 29 October 2026: Alinta Energy, 10c/kWh on the first 8 kWh a day; GloBird Energy, 10c/kWh on the first 8 kWh a day, then 2c; Origin Energy (Ergon network), 8.66c/kWh with no daily cap (standing offer). Where a rate after the cap is inferred, it's left out here and flagged in the table. The table on this page ranks all 21 retailers with a flat rate above zero, highest first. Offers that need a battery, VPP enrolment or another condition can pay more and are listed separately; the plan's daily cap, supply charge and usage rates matter too.
Is there a minimum feed-in tariff in Queensland?
Not across the state. In regional Queensland, Ergon Energy's regulated offers pay 6.006c/kWh with no daily cap (AER plan data, 29 October 2026). In south-east Queensland there's no mandated rate, so retailers set their own voluntary rates.
Should I pick the retailer with the highest feed-in tariff?
Not always. The headline FIT rate is just one factor. Check the daily cap (the rate after the cap is usually much lower), the daily supply charge, and the import (peak/off-peak) rates. A high FIT plan with a high daily supply charge and high import rates can be worse overall than a moderate FIT plan with competitive imports. Run it through the AER's Energy Made Easy comparison to compare like-for-like.
Will my feed-in tariff change over time?
Yes, it can. Retailers can change the feed-in rate on a market offer, and regulated rates are reset each financial year. Each retailer page shows the snapshots of the AER plan data we've recorded and any change between them; the rates on this page are from 29 October 2026.
When does the 44c feed-in tariff end in Queensland?
On 1 July 2028 for the customers who still get it, and it closed to new applications on 9 July 2012. The Queensland Government says existing Solar Bonus Scheme customers who stay eligible keep the 44c/kWh rate until it expires on 1 July 2028, and that it isn't available to new customers (checked 10 October 2026). If you are connecting solar in Queensland now, Ergon Energy's regulated offers in regional Queensland pay 6.006c/kWh with no daily cap in the AER plan data as at 29 October 2026. In south-east Queensland on the Energex network there is no mandated rate at all, so it is whatever your retailer chooses to offer.
