Who we are
This website is operated by AM Marketing Group Pty Ltd, trading as Solar Power Savings (ABN 37 613 053 286), part of the Why Solar group ("we", "us", "our"). We are a free service that matches Australian homeowners with a CEC-accredited solar installer and helps them access the federal and state rebates they qualify for.
Information we collect
When you use our rebate check or contact us, we may collect:
- Contact details — your name, email address and phone number.
- Property details — your address, postcode, suburb and state, whether you own or rent, your roof type, and your approximate quarterly electricity bill.
- Technical information — your IP address, browser type, device information, the page that referred you, and how you interact with the site, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
You don't have to give us your personal information, but if you don't, we may not be able to match you with an installer or check your rebate eligibility.
How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- Estimate the rebates and savings you may qualify for;
- Match you with a suitable CEC-accredited installer and arrange a quote;
- Contact you by phone, email or SMS about your enquiry and your solar quote;
- Respond to your questions and provide customer support;
- Improve our website and services; and
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Who we share it with
We are a matching service, not a quote-comparison site. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't pass it to multiple installers to bid over you. We may share your information with:
- One matched installer — the CEC-accredited installer we select for your property, so they can prepare and discuss your quote;
- The Why Solar group — our related operator family, who help facilitate the match and the rebate paperwork;
- Service providers — trusted suppliers who help us run the business (for example email, hosting, customer-relationship and analytics providers), who may only use your information to provide services to us; and
- Authorities — where we are required or authorised to do so by law.
Third-party services
Our address field may use Google Maps Platform (Places API) to help you enter your address accurately. Your use of that feature is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We may also use analytics tools to understand how the site is used. These providers may process limited information on our behalf.
Marketing and your choices
If you submit an enquiry, you agree to be contacted about your solar quote. We may also send you relevant updates. You can opt out of marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails, replying STOP to an SMS, or contacting us using the details below. We handle marketing in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and measure performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly if you disable them.
How we store and protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, including access controls and secure transmission. Your information may be stored by our service providers, which may include servers located outside Australia. We retain personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as required by law.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us using the details below. We'll respond within a reasonable time. There's no charge to make a request, though we may need to verify your identity first.
